Consultation and Clinical Supervision

After many experiences of working as a therapist in a variety of settings, and now in private practice, I find it meaningful to support those who are learning to navigate the career. I feel passionate about providing exceptional care to the people seeking mental health care, supporting new therapists in beginning their life’s work, and expanding the accessibility of good mental health care to all people. I feel committed to keeping the mental health field as rewarding as it has been for me.

My qualifications

I am a State approved supervisor (Washington state) and an Approved Supervisor through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Approved supervisor status through the AAMFT is an extensive educational, experiential and supervisory training over several years. Those who have earned the designation serve as mentors who support and nurture their supervisees’ strengths and resources, and provide a learning environment that ensures thorough Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) training and education.

Primary and secondary supervision

In my private practice, I enjoy supervising pre-licensed clinicians (LMFTA and LMHCA) towards licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I can provide primary supervision for licensure in a private practice setting for clinicians with some pre- and/or post-master’s experience, depending on the experience and focus area the candidate wishes to pursue. I can also provide secondary supervision for licensure when the candidate has another primary supervisor, and for that, I can consider a dyad arrangement (2 supervisees and 1 supervisor). For primary supervision, I provide 1:1 supervision, and I collaborate with the clinician to start both the business and clinical side of the practice, but may require some further business development consultation prior to or during the start of clinical work, and/or a reference from a previous supervisor to speak to readiness to begin private practice.

Clinical consultation

I provide specialized consultation in family systems and couple therapy (Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy).

Supervision and consultation experience

I have coordinated a practicum training program at a local clinic, and have served in a clinical practicum supervisor capacity at a local college. I currently provide individual supervision and clinical consultation in my private practice, and have advanced training in Couples Therapy (Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy) and am certified in that model.
